Jurgen Klinsmann is currently in charge of the USA national team, he has however been linked with other jobs, such as the recently available Tottenham job.
Klinsmann is a former player and fan favourite of Tottenham, but he has now committed his future to the USA national team, signing a four year deal.
USA have claimed they offered him the contract out of wanting a long term commitment from Klinsmann, not solely because of interest from other teams such as Tottenham and even Switzerland.
“We’ve obviously read some of those things,” said Gulati.
“On a specific level, none of those things were critical to us. The desire to make sure we had a long-term commitment from Jurgen, and he had one from us, was part of it, and market dynamic does dictate some of that.”
With Klinsmann future now secure with the USA, they can now focus on the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Although in very good from since Klinsmann took charge, they have been handed a very tough group and will do well to get through.
