Klopp might cut short Wilson’s loan spell if the Reds face an injury crisis

Jurgen Klopp has not ruled out the possibility of recalling Harry Wilson from his loan spell at Derby County if the Reds face a burn out of options up front.

The 21-year-old Welshman has done exceedingly well in the EFL Championship under the stewardship of Frank Lampard and has continued his development in the right direction. Wilson has accumulated a goal and 7 assists in the second tier so far this season.

Wilson might be in the manager’s plans in the upcoming season after impressing on back-to-back loan spells, having previously excelled on his loan stint at Hull City in the 2017-18 season where he registered 7 goals and 3 assists.

Speaking about the Welsh prodigy, Klopp has said, ” I am really happy with what Harry is doing, it is fantastic.

It is the perfect example of being able to leave home and show up somewhere else. I really think Harry left in the right moment. Since I’m in everyone said Harry Wilson needs to go on loan.
“I really thought he was too young and he scored a lot of goals for the Under-23s and then he went to Hull last season and was already good.
“He came back and then had pre-season and went to Derby and it is an outstanding job what Frank [Lampard] is doing, England finally has a lot of good, young managers. That’s cool.
“Derby accepted when they signed the contract, they have to wait until the last second before we decide. We don’t want to take him away only if we really need him, then we would trigger that option.
“Otherwise he is there in a fantastic team and I really like watching him.

Liverpool are currently top of the table in the Premier League and Wilson might be recalled should the Reds seek more depth in their attacking options later in the season.
