Jan Molby believes new manager should get Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher on side
Liverpool legend Jan Molby believes Jurgen Klopp should appoint Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher as his first-team coaches as soon as possible.
The German was formally announced as the new Liverpool boss last night and has since spoken to LFCTV about his recent arrival and appointment at Anfield.
The mood around the club is very positive after Klopp‘s arrival, and Molby believes it would get even better if the new manager could bring back two of the club’s biggest legends.
Klopp’s arrival saw both Sean O’Driscoll and Gary McAllister leave the club, with the German’s own staff-members coming in, but Molby believes it would be a smart move to get Gerrard and Carragher involved immediately.

“Jurgen Klopp’s arrival at Anfield, of course, means there will be yet another shake up of the club’s coaching setup,” he told the Liverpool Echo.
“And for me, the new manager now has the perfect chance to get an Anfield legend into his backroom staff.
“Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard simply have to be sounded out. Losing those two has been a massive blow to the club, and getting them back is a must, in whatever capacity.
“Think about having Klopp and Gerrard on the bench, representing the club, setting the standards. It’s a no brainer.
“Can you imagine going to meet a potential new recruit, and having those two selling the club for you? They’d be signing on the spot. No question.”
