Juventus confirm Real Madrid interest in Paul Pogba

Juventus’ Director General, Giuseppe Marotta, has revealed that Real Madrid ARE interested in Paul Pogba, despite Carlo Ancelotti stating otherwise.

The Frenchman’s future has been hot-topic in recent weeks, with several of Europe’s top clubs all interested in signing him in the Summer, but after being linked with a mega-£78million move, Carlo Ancelotti stated that his side are not interested in the midfielder.

However, Marotta has responded to those comments and has said the Italian manager is telling ‘white lies’, after revealing the two have already held talks regarding the player.

Marotta told Sky Italia: “Ancelotti asked me some questions about Pogba. He says he’s not interested?

“Well, that’s a white lie, although I’m sure he has his reasons to say it’s not true.”

Despite wanting to keep hold of their star-man, Marotta knows that it’s unlikely due to the financial power other clubs have around Europe.

“We’ll do everything within our power to keep the player but we must not forget Italy is a country that is undergoing change.

“Our problem is that we have offers coming in from clubs offering him a salary we are not able to match due to our financial situation.

“Right now there is no reason to believe he will definitely be leaving Juventus for another team, but we have to bear in mind we cannot compete with the wages he can command elsewhere. We have our limits.”
