Juventus have confirmed the injury to their star striker Cristiano Ronaldo, who picked up an injury in the Euro 2020 qualifiers match against Serbia. Though it has initially been labelled as a “minor” injury, it seems that the Bianconeri are not looking to risk him ahead of their crucial clash against Ajax in the quarter-final of the Champions League. The talismanic forward was in sublime form against Atletico Madrid in the round of 16 matchup as he scored a hat-trick to overturn a 2-0 deficit from the first leg and get the better of the opponents to advance to the next round.

An official statement from Juventus confirming the thigh injury of their superstar read, “Cristiano Ronaldo underwent examinations in Portugal that showed an apparent minor injury to his right thigh flexors. His condition will be monitored and will be subjected to new investigations to define the resumption of competitive activity.”
