Juventus striker on Arsenal’s radar

According to sources in Italy, Juventus forward Mirko Vucinic is being monitored by Arsenal and the Premier League side is reportedly to sign him up in the summer.

The Gunners have been keen on the Montenegro international for the past two seasons but manager Arsene Wenger has failed to make a deal happen.

Wenger is desperate to bolster his attacking options as Olivier Giroud, despite his 13 goals from 30 league games this season, has been disappointing against the big teams and the back-up strikers of Nicklas Bendtner and Yaya Sanogo have also failed to impress. Arsenal sit fourth in the table, with considerable distance to make up if they are to finish any higher but the arrival of a top, experince striker may help the Gunners in their title push next season.

Vucinic has started just 4 of Juventus’ league fixtures as they push for their second successive Serie A title. He has had to battle for a place with Argentine Carlos Tevez, who has made a real impact since his move from Manchester City and Spaniard Fernando Llorente, who has featured in 28 of Juve’s 31 league games, so he has clearly impressed manager Antonio Conte.

It is for these reasons that Conte may be offloading the 30 year old in the summer, although Arsenal have to meet the forward’s ÂŁ10m asking price.
