Frenchman denies he’s looking to leave the club
Karim Benzema has hit out at the ‘clowns’ who are linking him with a move away from Real Madrid this summer, following intense speculation of a move to Arsenal.
Since the beginning of the transfer window rumours had been rife that Arsene Wenger was looking to add the former Lyon man to his forward ranks, and was readying a £50 million bid for his services.
With Rafa Benitez now at the helm in Madrid there was uncertainty as to whether the 27 year-old would remain as the first choice striker at the Bernabeu this summer.
Some news outlets were even saying that the French forward could be unveiled before the Arsenal v Liverpool clash at the Emirates on Monday evening, which sparked Benzema into taking public action.
Benzema Rubbishes Move
The striker took to Twitter on Monday afternoon to spectacularly quash any speculation of a move away, by stating:
“For all those clowns who want to make believe things at my fans. Here this is my home! #HalaMadrid”
