Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp sent scouts to watch Mahmoud Dahoud as Borussia Monchengladbach lost 4-0 at Manchester City, according to reports.

Dahoud was already on Liverpool’s wishlist during the summer transfer window but the midfielder remained at Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach until January at least.

Reds gaffer Klopp has not given up hope on signing the 20-year-old and sent a couple of scouts to watch him at the Etihad last week, according to The Daily Express.

Pep Guardiola’s City side eased past the German giants 4-0 in their first Champions League game of the season.

The Merseyside outfit are willing to spend ÂŁ25million for the Germany U21 star in the January transfer window as speculation grows that Dahoud has refused to sign a contract extension at Monchengladbach.

Dahoud has a release clause of just ÂŁ8.3m in his deal at Borussia-Park which has alerted a lot of top European clubs in recent weeks.

Liverpool could get into a bidding war with Italian outfit Juventus, who are also heavily interested in Dahoud.
