Marco Asensio has turned down a transfer offer from Manchester United, according to reports in Spain.
The 21-year-old has burst onto the scene for Los Blancos this season, catching the attention of some of Europe’s elite.
According to Spanish outlet Don Balon, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, and Manchester United have all shown interest in signing the talented Spaniard.
Despite this, the winger has reportedly REJECTED each of these clubs in favour of remaining with Real Madrid.
Reportedly, Asensio has set his sights on becoming a key player for Los Blancos in the next few seasons, and intends to stay and fight for a place in the first team squad, despite competition from huge names in world football.
With Real Madrid likely to bring in some new faces over the transfer window, it will be even more difficult for Asensio to cement a place in the starting eleven, however, it seems that he is determined to prove his worth to Zinedine Zidane and co.
He has since made 33 appearances for the La Liga side in all competitions, scoring nine goals and providing three assists.
His current contract at the Bernabeu runs until June 2022.
He was handed his big break this season after Gareth Bale suffered an injury and faced a long lay off, during this time Asensio managed to impress Madrid fans, along with the coaching staff.
At the age of just 21, attracting interest from some of the biggest clubs in Europe can only be beneficial for his career, but only time will tell if snubbing these offers in favour of staying in Madrid will pay off.
