Laurent Koscielny could be fit for Saturday

Wenger’s squad is plagued by injuries

According to Sky Sports News HQ, Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny is in contention to face Sunderland on Saturday.

The French international centre-half suffered a hip injury at Norwich City on Sunday; and was ultimately replaced by substitute Gabriel.

However, the 30-year old could return to first team duties for the game against the Black Cats at the Emirates Stadium on the weekend.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is also hopeful that Kieran Gibbs and Theo Walcott will return to training this week, but there are still major injury worries for the North London club.

The Gunners still need to assess to fitness of both Alexis Sanchez and Santi Cazorla, who suffered hamstring and knee injuries respectively during the match against Norwich.
