Arsenal have rejected Manchester United’s bid for their defender, Laurent Koscielny, according to reports in the French media.
The French international has emerged as a key figure at the Emirates Stadium, since arriving in North London from Lorient, back in 2009.
Now at the age of 30-years-old, he is likely to become Arsenal’s new club captain, following the departure of Mikel Arteta, however, United are still keen to secure the services of the player.
New Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, wants to add defensive reinforcements to his squad, prior to the start of the new Premier League season in August.
Despite Mourinho’s desire to sign Koscielny, who will play for his county at the European Championships in his homeland this month, the defender is apparently un-interested in a move away from England’s capital city.
