The Defender will join the Foxes on a 5 year deal

Leicester City have completed the signing of Caglar Soyuncu from SC Freiburg for a reported fee of £19 million reported by Goal. He has signed a 5 year deal with the club, subject to a work permit being granted.

They are confident the permit will be granted, but it will take several days to be confirmed. He already has endorsement papers from the Turkish FA, but if the permit fails, the deal will be called off and the Premier League giants will pay nothing.

The Turkey International began his professional career in 2014 with Turkish club Altınordu. He moved to Germany back in 2016 and has been a regular for the German side since then. He has started 49 Bundesliga matches for the club since joining them.

The centre-back was very impressive last season and has been particularly praised for his ability on the ball. He made 30 appearances for the Bundesliga giants in all competitions.

The 22 year old was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League throughout this summer and even was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal. He even admitted he wanted a move to the Premier League.

“I hope I go to Arsenal,” Soyuncu said.

“I really want to play in the Premier League, but everything depends on the team. I have a contract [at Freiburg] for three more years.”

But the player wanted to make his decision after his outing with the Turkey national team in the World Cup was over.

The defender is the Foxes seventh signing this summer as they bolstered the team after losing Riyad Mahrez to Manchester City.
