Leicester to loan Powell

Leicester City are set to win the battle to loan Manchester United striker Nick Powell, reports the Daily Mirror.

The newly promoted Foxes have been tracking the 20 year old for a while, and are now set to take him on loan to the King Power Stadium.

Nigel Pearson’s side beat off competition from Sunderland and Hull City, with Powell set to partner fellow new signing Leonardo Ulloa up front.

Powell spent last last season on loan at Championship, scoring 12 goals for the Latics during a season long loan at the DW Stadium.

Leicester are also keen on Powell’s United team mate, Tom Lawerance, with a view of a permanent deal for the young midfielder.
