Ambitous package being prepared for the Chilean
Leicester City are set to offer Chile international midfielder Charles Aranguiz a lucrative contract offer in a bid to fend off interest from other European teams for his signature this summer.
The Internacional midfielder joined the club following an impressive display at the 2014 World Cup, and his form has continued into this summer’s Copa America as he helped lead the team to victory.
Competition for Signature
This has led to a plethora of European clubs to be interested in obtaining his signature this summer, with Bayer Leverkuesen, Chelsea, Arsenal and Marseille also linked with making a bid.
However, new Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri has identified Aranguiz as his key transfer target, and has offered £10.6 million which is thought to be viewed as acceptable by the Internacional bosses.
They’re also ready to put together a contract that would make him one of, if not the, most highly paid player at the club as they look to replace the midfield influence of the outgoing Esteben Cambiasso.
Club Confirm Big Offer
And Internacional president Vitorio Piffero says that Aranguiz now has a choice to make:
”Leicester told us they’ll offer £10.6 million, which is a very big difference to the other two (offers).
”They are also offering an absurd salary. The will of the player is crucial. For now though, no deal.”
