Leon Balogun was ecstatic after scoring his first goal for Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League.

The Nigeria international came off the bench and opened his account at the Amex Stadium against Crystal Palace.

Brighton and Hove Albion defender Leon Balogun has said that it was a dream come true for him after scoring his first goal for the Seagulls in their win against the Eagles. The player came on as a substitute and added his name to the scoresheet as he found the back of the net in the 31st minute of the match.

The 30-year-old defender arrived in the summer from Mainz and has made only four appearances so far for Chris Hughton’s side, all coming in the Premier League. The player also made it into the Nigeria World Cup 2018 squad but could not do anything significant as the Super Eagles were knocked out by Argentina in the group stage.

Balogun was ecstatic about his maiden goal and said, “For me it’s another dream in this football calendar year that I wanted to come true,” he added, “I made my dream come true of playing in a World Cup and I made a big dream come true in moving to the Premier League. Now scoring in the Premier League with my first touch in this game, it’s kind of unreal. I’m just happy. When I saw the ball bouncing I knew it was going to be tough, so I just hit it and luckily I hit it right. It was a great feeling.”
