Leroy Sane has played down his comparisons with Ryan Giggs insisting he is yet to reach that kind of level.
Sane has been one of the most promising youngsters in the English Premier League since his arrival from Bundesliga outfit Schalke and played an influential role in Manchester City’s title triumph last season. Sane took a bit of time in adjusting to the rough nature of the Premier League but has become an integral part of Pep Guardiola’s setup.
Despite his excellent outing last season he didn’t find a place in the German World Cup squad as Joachim Low felt the former Schalke winger would have been a misfit in his tactics.
Sane’s impressive form has drawn comparisons with Manchester United legend Giggs but the youngster has refused to address the issue. “Comparing him to me – I can’t do it at all!
“If you see the kind of player he was, he’s a legend for Manchester United and the Premier League.
“How he played was special and how many titles he won, I’m not nearly there!
“Obviously I’m pleased that people do it because it means I’m doing some things well and I’m really happy about it.”
