Mats Hummels and Robert Lewandowski were involved in a training ground row when the Bayern Munich striker stopped mid-way through a game to tie his shoelaces, reports say.

Lewandowski has been in the transfer headlines in recent weeks after the Poland international hired a new agent. The rumours are Lewandowski wants a new challenge and has been linked to Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester United.

According to Bild, Hummels said: “Lewy, are you serious? You are doing shoelaces? Holy s***,” which prompted Lewandowski to reply: “And you’ve lost the ball.”

The Bayern defender continued to criticise Lewandowski’s attitude and reacted angrily when the goalscorer questioned his ability.

“Shut up. Get lost,” Hummels said to Lewandowski as the pair went their separate ways at the end of training. The bust-up may have attracted attention, but Hummels dismissed the incident as a normal occurrence.

He said: “It’s nothing big. It happens all the time.”

The confirmation of transfer expert Pini Zahavi as Lewandowski’s new agent has raised concerns in Bayern that their top scorer wants to leave the club.
