Messi has now won this award three times since it was introduced in 2016.
Inter Miami and Argentina forward Lionel Messi won another award for his excellent performance. He has been named The Best FIFA Men’s Player of the Year for 2023.

Messi faced competition from Manchester City striker Erling Haaland and Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe to retain the award. Messi also won this award in 2022, the same year he won the FIFA World Cup trophy.
Messi has now won this award three times since it was introduced in 2016. Last year, he also won the Ballon d’Or for the record eighth time. He helped PSG to win the Ligue 1 title before moving to Miami. He also won the Leagues Cup title with Inter Miami.
The women’s award went to Barcelona midfielder Aitana Bonmati, who won both the Women’s World Cup and a domestic and European treble last year. The 25-year-old also won the Ballon d’Or for best female player last year.
