Mohamed Salah has been linked with a move to Liverpool for the majority of the transfer window. As we get closer to the end of the transfer market, the move could be edging closer. Reports suggest Liverpool and Basel have agreed a £10 million fee and Salah could be set for a medical very soon.
There have been signs that Salah is close to signings with documents of him buying a property in Liverpool was spread around the internet, however the validity of this document was questionable. Salah has been receiving mass amounts of interest after scoring against Chelsea in the Champions League.
The twenty one year old rising star will be Liverpool’s first piece of business in this transfer window if the deal goes through. There have been recent twists in the future of Salah with Newcastle showing interest and now reports suggest with the imminent departure of Juan Mata, Chelsea could be after the man that helped Basel beat them twice in this years Champions League group stages. “Salah’s eye-catching performances in the Champions League also made the likes of Zenit St Petersburg, Galatsaray and Atletico Madrid sit up and takes notice.”
However Liverpool look to have taken pole position in this situation and Salah could arrive in Liverpool today for a medical. If the medical goes to plan, the next stage would be gaining the correct paperwork, allowing Salah to play in England. With all the interest around Salah, it looks like he will not be at Basel much longer, with his likely destination being Anfield.
