Liverpool are free to sign QPR’s Loic Remy after Arsenal pulled out of the race for him following a row about his wage demands.
The Gunners were heavily expected to sign the striker as backup to Frenchman Olivier Giroud. Remy was demanding ÂŁ80,000 per week to join the Emirates, while Arsenal were only willing to offer ÂŁ50,000, and now the move is off the table, despite there reportedly being an ÂŁ8million fee agreed between the two London clubs.
Liverpool have already apporached QPR about a move, and they will now be clear favourites to land Remy this summer. A clause in the striker’s contract allows him to move to a top four club for just ÂŁ8million, while any other club interested would have to pay ÂŁ12million.
