Liverpool have begun talks with Serie A side Genoa over Italian shot-stopper Mattia Perin.
The Reds are ready to capture a new goalkeeper once the January transfer window opens, and it appears that they have made the 22-year-old keeper their priority target.
And now Perin’s agent, Moreno Roggi has revealed that talks are underway, he said: ‘There has been contact with Liverpool’.
‘For Perin I can only imagine a future abroad. I would like him to remain in Italy, but only clubs from abroad can afford him.’
‘England? It’s a possibility.’
It is understood that Liverpool are willing to match Genoa’s £12 million valuation of their player, with a deal seemingly close.
