Liverpool fans have reasons to be cheerful and hopeful ahead of their Europa League clash against Sevilla tomorrow; and it lies in Sevilla’s away form.

Unai Emery’s side have done well in Europe in recent seasons, but their form on their travels as of late has been fairly dismal, throwing into question their credentials.

Sevilla’s record on the road this season though has been nothing short of awful. They’ve played a total of 31 games away from the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium in all competitions this season, and have hardly taken any points away.

Only four of those 31 games ended in a win for Sevilla, giving them an away win ratio of just 13 per cent. They lost 14 of those away matches (45 per cent) and drew 13 (42 per cent).

Liverpool’s away record this season has been much better, with a percentage of around 35% being wins- over double of Sevilla.

Liverpool have only played seven away games in Europe this season. Like Sevilla, they’ve also won just one of those – against Rubin Kazan in November.

Who’s victory it could be is anybody’s guess- Liverpool fans will certainly be praying that Jurgen Klopp’s first season in charge of the Merseyside club brings some silverware with it, which could prompt players from around Europe to ponder a move to Anfield in the near future.
