Reds join Manchester United in race to sign Bayern Munich star
Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller.
The German international has been strongly linked with a move away from the Allianz Arena, with Manchester United desperate to sign him over the summer.
However, Louis van Gaal couldn’t strike up a deal with the Bundesliga side and Muller ended up staying put in Germany.
Battle for Muller
Now however, Liverpool have entered the race to sign the star and could lodge a formal bid at the end of the current season.
It’s believed Jurgen Klopp will try and raid the Bundesliga during the transfer windows due to his knowledge of the league whilst working for Borussia Dortmund.
Muller is currently in contract talks with Munich officials, but it’s believed both United and Liverpool are monitoring the talks just in case the parties can’t agree on a deal.
If a deal can’t be agreed to, the Premier League duo would still need to cough up around £75million to sign Muller.
