The two sides meet at White Hart Lane
SillySeason takes a look ahead to this weekend’s big London derby between Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea, as the two sides meet live on BT Sport for the midday kick off.
Spurs
Spurs come into this game on the back of tonight’s Europa League trip to face Qarabag.
Regardless of the result, the distance that Mauricio Pochettino’s men have to travel within a matter of days will no doubt affect their preparation for the Chelsea game.
Assuming there are no injuries for Tottenham tonight, Erik Lamela, Alex Pritchard, Nabil Bentaleb and Nacer Chadli will be the only notable absentees for the match against Jose Mourinho’s Blues.
Chelsea
On the other hand, Chelsea come into this fixture after a solid 4-0 victory away to Maccabi Tel-Aviv in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
In terms of team news for the Blues, both Ramires and John Terry are set to miss the game after picking up injuries in Isreal.
Mourinho has also been left with one recognised striker in Diego Costa for the visit to North London; Radamel Falcao is doubtful and Loic Remy is expecting the birth of his child.
The last league meeting between the pair at White Hart Lane saw Harry Kane score a brace and Spurs win 5-3 on New Year’s Day.
