Liverpool have been made clear favourites to sign Manchester City goalkeeper, Joe Hart, with Arsenal second favourites.
The Englishman has been under serious pressure at the Etihad Stadium after some below-par performances, especially last season, but despite the criticism, Hart is currently in contract talks with officials at the club regarding a potential new deal.
According to reports, Hart will be offered a new contract worth around £110k-a-week, but that still hasn’t stopped transfer rumours surfacing.
Hart’s current deal expires in 2016, but betting company, Paddy Power, have made Liverpool favourites to sign him by offering 5/2 odds with Brendan Rodgers keen on finding a replacement for under-fire Simon Mignolet.
As well as Liverpool, Arsenal are also in the frame for the 27-year-old, and their odds are at 3/1, with Arsene Wenger suffering an injury crisis with Wojciech Szczesny and David Ospina both sidelined.
Despite the talk of a new contract, Hart insisted earlier this year that no talks have taken place.
The shot-stopper said: “Anything about a new contract is news to me. I’ve heard nothing.
“I’ve got a year, nearly two years, left on my deal. That is all I am aware of.”
