Liverpool given the green light on Valdes deal after Monaco pull out of negotiations

Liverpool target Victor Valdes will not be joining Monaco this summer after the French club revealed its concerns over the player’s fitness. The 32-year-old tore his anterior cruciate ligament last season in April which meant that Valdes missed the end of last season and is looking likely to miss the first few months of next season.

This triggered Monaco to pull out of a deal that looked almost certain to take place. There are now questions being asked regarding Brendan Rodger’s potential actions to gamble on the player’s fitness and make a move for the Spanish keeper.
