The Reds have been dealt major setbacks in their pursuits of Madrid’s Iker Casillas, Chelsea’s Petr Cech and Victor Valdes.

Liverpool at current are reportedly keen to find a new first-choice goalie in January, with Mignolet making a number of costly individual mistakes this season so far.

The Liverpool Boss has put Barca man Valdes at the top of his list, but he now looks set to lose out to Premier League rivals Manchester United.

United are favourites to land to Spaniard after he agreed a compensation fee with AS Monaco

Rodgers’ chase for Real’s Casillas is also in jeopardy, with Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain also entering the race for the Madrid man

And to make matters worse Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho plans to keep Cech at Stamford Bridge.

Petr has been heavily linked with a move away from the Stamford Bridge after falling behind Thibaut Courtois in the pecking order this season.

Liverpool and The Gunners are keeping an eye on his availability, but 32-year-old Cech now looks set to stay where he is.
