Reds keen to beat rivals to star-striker
Liverpool are in advanced talks with Corinthians striker Alexandre Pato, according to reports.
The Reds were strongly linked with signing the Brazilian over the summer, but all reports were dismissed by both parties as Pato remained in Brazil.
However, in recent weeks transfer rumours have emerged once again, with news that Arsenal and Chelsea have also entered the race to sign the former-AC Milan wonderkid.
Injury Woes and Career Stall
Pato was predicted to have a bright future, but due to serious injury issues, he failed to develop at the San Siro and swiftly returned to his homeland to play for Corinthians.
After spending a few years back home, the striker is now ready to move back abroad and the Premier League is looking a likely destination.
With his agent already admitting he’s weighing up his options, it’s now emerged that Liverpool are already in advanced talks to sign him in the New Year.
The 26-year-old has netted 26 goals this season whilst enjoying a loan spell with Sao Paulo.
