According to the Liverpool Echo, highly coveted Turk, Arda Turan is being tracked by Brenden Rodgers for a potential move.
Turan has been one of the standout performers in La Liga and has been targeted by the Merseyside club as a result. Despite not having brought any new players through the door, Liverpool are keen to land the Turkish international’s signature.
Turan would be a key signing as Rodgers’ side push for a top four finish and face some tough matches in the coming weeks such as Arsenal.
The Reds were set to sign Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Salah for £12m just last week, before Chelsea came in and landed his signature. This was a huge setback for Rodgers, who was hopeful of bringing in a talented midfielder, and has now moved onto Turan, who has featured in 18 of Atletico’s 21 league games this season.
The 27 year old midfielder has played for the Madrid side for the past 3 years and despite having renewed a contract for 2017, it is said that Atletico will listen to any offers above £20m for their prized winger.
