Liverpool look to splash cash to sign goalkeeper

Liverpool hope to add to their goalkeeping ranks next summer with a move for Fiorentina goalkeeper Neto.

It’s thought that the Mersyside club are willing to pay a staggering ÂŁ125,000 a week for the Brazilian, who would be brought in to give current number one Simon Mignolet some competitive competition.

Due to Neto only having six months left on his contract, Liverpool wouldn’t have to pay a fee for his services in the summer, which could be why they’re so willing to part with that amount of wages as they’d be saving money overall by not having to pay a transfer fee.

Victor Valdes has been another potential name linked with Rodgers’ side, although Neto now looks a more likely candidate having turned down a new deal to stay with the Serie A side.

Roma hope to rival Liverpool for his signature once he becomes available on a pre-contract agreement, although it’s thought that they wouldn’t be able to get anywhere near the wages that the Reds will be offering.
