Liverpool have reportedly made a £17.6million bid for AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli.
According to reports in Italy, The Reds have ramped up their interest in the Italian forward, despite Brendan Rodgers categorically denying any interest in the controversial figure earlier in the Summer.
Rodgers has confirmed that he is still in the market for a new striker, after losing Luis Suarez to FC Barcelona earlier this Summer, and despite being linked with Radamel Falcao and Edinson Cavani, it looks like Balotelli is the likely option.
Reports in Italy have claimed that a formal bid has been made by the Premier League side, and despite it being £2m short of Milan’s asking price, they are seriously considering the offer due to their want to sell him.
A meeting is reportedly being arranged for Balotelli’s agent to meet Liverpool officials later this week.
