Liverpool are set to make one final attempt to try and lure Alexis Sanchez to Anfield, by offering him a £150,000 a week deal. The Barcelona winger has reportedly refused to be part of a package deal to help his club sign Luis Suarez, but Reds boss Brendan Rodgers still sees him as a key target.
However, Arsenal are leading the race to sign him, with Sanchez preferring a move to London. But Liverpool aren’t giving up that easily. According to Catalan newspaper AS, Brendan Rodgers is set to offer the Chile man a £150,000 a week deal to change his mind and join The Reds over the Gunners.
He is currently £75,000 a week at Barca, which is much less than what the Anfield side are offering him. Arsenal have privately promised to up his wages to £135,000 but even that wouldn’t beat this last-ditch move from Liverpool.
Barcelona are now desperate to sell Sanchez, as they look for more funds to help push through a move for striker Luis Suarez and they are looking to try and complete the selling of the winger sometime this week.
