Liverpool may be given January attacking lifeline!

Liverpool are struggling up front in England. Lille are struggling in France. It seems the only attacking positive connecting the two clubs is Divock Origi. The 19-year-old Belgium striker is in hot form for club and country, and Liverpool would love to have him at Anfield in January, rather than the end of the season as expected.

The Reds signed the youngster for ÂŁ10million in the summer, but immediately allowed him back out on loan to his former French Ligue 1 employees, Lille. It seems that now both Liverpool and Origi would like the move ‘done and dusted’ in January.

Origi, who scored a cracker in midweek for his national side, appears frustrated playing in the French league and would welcome an early move to Merseyside.

‘Although I agreed to stay with Lille until the end of this season, if there was that chance of joining Liverpool sooner, I would take it – I would love to move sooner rather than later.

‘Brendan Rodgers is in contact. That makes me feel very good and wanted. Also the medical staff, they stay in touch for the same reason, telling me they are looking forward to me coming to the club.’

He continued: ‘I’m here at Lille. It’s fine. They are a good club and they have helped me. But it is also frustrating. It is French football.

‘I can’t wait to be playing in the Premier League because I can now see that it will suit me better.

‘I think there are good things waiting for me with Liverpool.’

Lille are struggling in the French league, currently sitting in a lowly 14th place, and Origi has been one of their only highlights of their season so far.

The Belgian national with African roots has already made a name for himself on the biggest stage, appearing at this years World Cup. He is the youngest goalscorer in Belgian World Cup history, and the first player of Kenyan descent to ever score at the Finals.

The gates of Liverpool’s training ground, Melwood, are open for Origi to arrive early. The Anfield club, and especially manager Brendan Rodgers, would love to have another attacking option. Especially one that is currently on fire. Questions about Balotellis’s quality and commitment are rife. Questions about Sturridge’s fitness are asked daily. Lambert and Borini?….are they the answer to Liverpool’s attacking problems? It seems it may be a while before the questions are answered, and the Anfield puzzle solved. Maybe Divock Origi……a niaive Belgian 19-year-old kid, holds the key.

The Kop patiently await the answers….but they need to come soon.
