Liverpool are ready to make a shock move for former Barcelona keeper Victor Valdes.
Boss Brendan Rodgers is willing to bring in the experienced Spaniard as competition for current number one Simoin Mingolet, while the club has also been in talks with Sampadoria’s Sergio Roberto.
It is understood that Liverpool have made contact to Valdes and the club want to do buisness as swiftly as possible before any other club snap the keeper up.
Liverpool are able to take this deal past the 11pm deadline as Valdes is a free agent after being released by Barcelona before the start of the season.
Valdes looked to be set for Monaco earlier in the summer, but an injury to the player prevented any move from happening.
Liverpool could complete the deal before the end of this week.
