Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Cardiff City goalkeeper David Marshall, but only if the Welsh side get relegated from the Premier League this season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men are currently fighting for their lives in top-flight football, and after more points were dropped at home yesterday against Stoke City, their chances of surviving are slimming every week.

With relegation a possibility, top-of-the-table side Liverpool, are prepared to pay ÂŁ6million for their shot-stopper, whom has been their best player by far this campaign.

Marshall has made the most saves in the Premier League this season and his performances have caught the eye of Brendan Rodgers, despite him recently signing Simon Mignolet from Sunderland.

It is believed Pepe Reina will be leaving the club permanently in the Summer, and Marshall could become The Reds’ second-choice ‘keeper.
