Liverpool postpone Sterling contract talks

Liverpool have decided to postpone contract negotiations with Raheem Sterling after yet another round of negotiations became unsolved.

The Reds have been in talks with the winger since late last year, but after the Englishman snubbed the new contract originally due to not meeting his wage demands, he has still refused to put pen to paper on a new deal.

According to reports, officials at Liverpool have now given up discussing a new deal with the starlet and will re-open the talks in the Summer once the season has finished.

Sterling’s current deal expires in 2017 and despite the club’s officials having numerous discussions with his agent, nothing yet has been agreed.

The original contract the winger was offered was around ÂŁ90k-a-week, but the 21-year-old told the club he deserves to be on more and should be one of the top earners on around ÂŁ140k-a-week.

Another worrying contract saga for Liverpool is that of Jordan Henderson as his talks have stalled as well.

The vice-captain only has 15-months left on his current deal.
