Liverpool are reportedly preparing for life after Raheem Sterling by putting together a £90,000 per week deal for Barcelona winger Pedro.
Sterling is sure to be one of Europe’s hottest transfer properties this summer, seeming likely to quit Anfield for pastures new.
Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are all keen on Sterling, according to reports.
Yesterday, Madrid’s B team coach, Zinedine Zidane, said the European champions were interested in Sterling.
“We know who Raheem Sterling is, and of course we are monitoring him as a player,” said Zidane.
“There are very few players in the world who can improve the Real Madrid squad, so it is going to make sense we monitor the progress of the best young players in the world.”
Pedro has fallen down the pecking order at the Nou Camp. Lionel Messi is at his brilliant best, Neymar has settled in, while Luis Suarez is making an impression.
Pedro has won it all: two Champions Leagues, four league titles, the European Championship and the World Cup.
Liverpool are keen on the winger, as are Manchester United and Arsenal.
Despite a transfer ban until next year, the Catalan club are apparently happy to sell.
