Liverpool are set to offer Marco Reus a deal that would make him their highest paid player ever to sign him from Borussia Dortmund.

The Anfield side are reportedly offering Reus a deal worth ÂŁ200,000 a week, three and a half times more than what he is currently on at the German side, a relatively meagre ÂŁ60,000 .

Premier League rivals Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea are also showing interest in Reus, but Reds chief Brendan Rodgers hopes the mega deal will gazump their rivals.

The news of Liverpool’s interest will stun Manchester City, who thought they were in pole position to sign Reus.

Dortmund are already making plans to replace Reus, whose contract runs until 2017 but has a ÂŁ20M sell-on clause which kicks in next year. They are thought to be chasing Javier Pastore of Paris St Germain.

Reus, despite not yet having fully recovered from an ankle ligament injury, has still managed 43 goals in 96 matches for Dortmund, and 40 assists.
