Liverpool showing shock interest in Theo Walcott

Liverpool are preparing to make a shock move for Arsenal star, Theo Walcott, in the Summer after he has falling down the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium.

The Reds are currently concerned that they may lose Raheem Sterling as contract talks continue to stall, and Brendan Rodgers believes Walcott could be a suitable replacement due to his pacy style of play.

Walcott has struggled for first-team football since his return from a 12-month injury lay-off and is also stalling signing a contract himself in North London, meaning the club could be ready to sell him in order to cash in on him.

The Englishman has been overlooked in the first-team in recent weeks for Alexis Sanchez, Danny Welbeck and Mesut Ozil, and with his contract nearing it’s end, a move could take place.

With 18-months left on his current deal, Walcott is still asking for more than ÂŁ100k-a-week despite his lack of first-team football. Arsene Wenger is currently refusing to give him a pay-rise after coming back from a long-term injury.

Liverpool were interested in Walcott back in 2013, but eventually, the winger did sign a new deal at Arsenal.
