Liverpool could sign Goncalo Inacio in January.
The 22-year-old defender is the subject of interest from Liverpool and Real Madrid.
Both sides are keen on bolstering their central defensive unit in the January transfer window.
Inacio came through the academy at Sporting and established himself as one of the best centre-backs in Portuguese football.
Liverpool defenders Joe Gomez, Ibrahima Konate and Joel Matip has faced multiple recurring injuries in the past and the backline needs a consistent starter at Anfield.
The 22-year-old Sporting defender reportedly has a €60m release clause in his contract and Liverpool wouldn’t mind paying an exorbitant fee for one of the best young defenders in the world.
“What I can tell you is that at the moment, from what I’m told Real Madrid have not agreed anything with Sporting for Goncalo Inacio,” says the transfer expert.
“Remember what I told you one month ago about Goncalo Inacio, he’s on the list of many clubs in England for a long time including Newcastle, including Liverpool, but also Manchester United are exploring the conditions of this player.
“At the moment it’s just about scouting, there’s still nothing concrete. What’s real is the release clause – €60m [£52m]. We will keep you posted if we hear more news about that.”
