Liverpool are said to by trying to offload Christian Benteke, after an extremely poor season with the club left him down the pecking order.

This poor season was epitomised within just 8 Premier League starts for the striker last season, with performances leaving a bitter taste in the mouth for fans and staff alike.

Because of this, Liverpool see it wise to offload Benteke and go on in search for a new striker to lead the lines at Anfield. However, Liverpool will not consider selling Christian Benteke for less than the £32.5m he cost the club last year.

Benteke’s agent says there is interest from several clubs, while a report in Turkey claimed he has agreed terms with Besiktas.

The Turkish club’s president Fikret Orman said on Monday: “Benteke is a very important player. Do we want to see him in our team? We want him, but he is a player who was transferred with very high costs.

“Well.. It doesn’t look like an easy transfer. There are also some number of different players we are interested in. We will have a look.”
