Olympique Lyon have denied any interest from Real Madrid in their left-back Ferland Mendy. Several recent eports stated Mendy is on the brink of joining Real Madrid and will undergo a medical. However, Lyon have denied these reports.
A statement from the club read, “Olympique Lyonnais deny that there is an agreement with Real Madrid for the future transfer of our international defender Ferland Mendy, contrary to what might be published by certain media outlets”.
Despite this statement from Lyon, it looks like Real will announce the signing the Mendy in the upcoming days with his transfer fee being €50 million. Mendy will reportedly sign a contract with Real till June 2025 like Serbian striker Luka Jovic did yesterday.
Ferland Mendy has been in fine form for Olympique Lyon this season. Mendy’s performances for Lyon have made him a sought-after prospect in Europe.
