Pep Guardiola wants a replacement for Joe Hart at the Etihad Stadium

Man City are plotting a move for Claudio Bravo, according to reports.

The Premier League side are eager to bring in a new keeper, with the club worried about how current goalkeeper Joe Hart will do next year after some woeful displays for England during this summer’s Euros competition.

New boss Pep Guardiola is considering who could replace the current shot-stopper and he believes that Barcelona’s Claudio Bravo would be a suitable signing.

Guardiola was reportedly unsure about Hart’s ability even before the tournament began and he is now certain that a new keeper should be brought in, in case Joe Hart continues to perform badly in between the sticks next season.

Key player for his club and his country

Bravo might be available on the cheap too, with Barca potentially willing to let him leave after making promises to their other keeper – Marc-Andre ter Stegen – to keep him in Spain.

The 33-year old was a regular for both his club side and his national side last season and is clearly capable of cutting it on the biggest stages in football.

He was in goal this summer as his side Chile beat Argentina to win the Copa America – he kept a clean sheet against a side that contained the likes of Messi, Aguero and Higuain and that shows that he is more than capable of doing a job in goal.

These positive displays have certainly caught the eye of Pep Guardiola and he now looks set to try and tie up a deal for the 33-year old as soon as possible.
