Manchester City boss unhappy despite massive victory

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has admitted that his side’s performance was not good enough, despite them thrashing league leaders Arsenal 6-3.

The Citizens had to win yesterday’s top-of-the-table encounter to avoid falling further behind The Gunners, and win is just what they did after showing just what they can do at home in front of their fans.

It was goals galore yesterday with both teams contributing in an epic encounter, and despite his side scoring six, Pellegrini was more concerned about them conceding three.

“We are not thinking about that at the moment. We have more points to fight for, with six or seven other important teams.

“I don’t think it was our best performance of the season because Arsenal scored three goals and that is too much for the amount of chances they had.

“But it was a complete game in terms of our attacking play because it is not easy to score six against Arsenal, who had the best defence in the Premier League, and we had at least five chances to score more.”
