Former-Champions ready to spend £85million on duo

Manchester City are ready to cough up £85million on signing Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba and Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling.

The Citizens lost their Premier League trophy to Chelsea this season after Jose Mourinho‘s men beat Crystal Palace 1-0 on Sunday, and work is already ongoing behind the scenes at the Etihad Stadium for next season.

Targets Indentified

It’s still unclear whether Manuel Pellegrini will be manager next year after a failed season, but according to reports, transfer works are already ongoing and two main targets have been identified.

City want to bring in Pogba from Juve as they are long-term admirers of the Frenchman and want to secure an ideal replacement for veteran Yaya Toure, who could still be on his way out of the club at the end of the season.

The ex-England champions also want to sign Sterling from Liverpool as his contract saga continues to stall and mount pressure on officials at Anfield.

City are in desperate need to sign more English players due to the Premier League regulations, and they see Sterling as a perfect signing due to his homegrown status and also his potential.

Transfer Battle

The winger has been superb for Liverpool over the past two seasons and has caught the eye of several clubs, including Real Madrid.

It’s reported that City are prepared to spend up to £85m on the duo and are keen to get the deals done as soon as possible so that they don’t get in the middle of bidding war with rivals.
