Liverpool star, Steven Gerrard, could be enjoying his final months at Anfield after the club are refusing to offer him a new contract, unless he takes a whopping pay-cut.
The club legend is entering the final few months of his deal at the Merseyside club, but the officials have already told him that they won’t be matching his £140k-a-week contract if he is to sign a new deal.
The midfielder, who started his 16th anniversary yesterday on the bench after being dropped, has come under questioning over recent weeks due to his poor form and it’s believed that he may be set to leave the club.
Talks with the 34-year-old are likely to continue, but the club have made it clear that if their captain wants to stay on at Anfield, he will have to take a pay-cut.
Due to the Bosman Ruling, Gerrard could talk to overseas clubs in January as his contract enters the final six months.
