Manchester City are set to keep Joe Hart guessing over a new contract at the club, reports the Guardian.

Hart, aged 28 has two years currently remaining on his deal with the Premier League holders, and it is thought that City are in no rush to extend the deal anytime soon, with Hart said to be relaxed.

The news comes a week or so after City handed new long term contracts to five of their key players, with captain Vincent Kompany, Sergio AgĂĽero, David Silva, Edin Dzeko, Samir Nasri and Aleksandar Kolarov all penning long term deals with the Etihad Stadium outfit.

The England international goalkeeper has recovered from his woes of early last season, having been dropped by Manuel Pellegrini in the October of last year, having made a costly mistake during City’s 2-1 defeat in a Premier League game away at Chelsea.

Following his error, he was then replaced by Romanian shot stopper Costal Pantilimon for two months.

Pellegrini added Willy Caballero to his ranks in the summer, with the keeper signing from Spanish La Liga side Malaga, to give stiff competition to Hart.
