Guardiola wants to strengthen squad
Pep Guardiola and Manchester City are ready to meet the £34million of Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho.
Guardiola is eager to strengthen his squad again this summer, and Carvalho is a target he could bring to the Etihad.
The manager wants to sell the ageing stars of City, and bring in quality replacements.
He has played a star role in Sporting’s team over the past few seasons and impressed on the international stage with his country Portugal, winning Euro 2016.
The 24-year-old now looks set to complete a move to City who will trigger his release clause as soon as the transfer market is open.
The Mirror add Carvalho’s arrival will likely see both Fernando and Yaya Toure leave the club.
