Liverpool and Manchester City are currently the strongest contenders for the 2018/19 Premier League title with the latter falling behind by 4 points.

However, Pep Guardiola’s men have a relatively bigger scoring threat and are also the first club in the top 5 European leagues to reach the 100-goal mark this season. The Citizens claimed a 2-1 victory at the Etihad Stadium earlier this year to climb themselves back up nearer to the Reds.

Jurgen Klopp’s men have scored 54 goals in the Premier League this season but most of their scoring threat is carried by the formidable front three of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian winger has scored on 23 occasions this term while Firmino and Mane have registered 22 between them. Manchester City on, on the other hand, have a highly balanced scoring effort between themselves.

Their highest scorer, Kun Aguero has managed 16 this seasons and in the top ten of the Premier League along with Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling who have gathered 17 together.

Goals have come in from Bernado Silva (11), David Silva (8), Jesus Rodriguez (7), Riyad Mahrez (7) and Ilkay Gundogan (6).

Kevin De Bruyne is not even in the list due to his injuries. The Belgian is healthy and is slow getting back to his form where he lays out assists with the flick of a finger.

The pressure of Klopp is to keep the front three healthy while also firing on all cylinders. A single injury can cost them heavily with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain still not ready to play.

However, the Reds do have the best defence in the league with just 13 goals conceded this campaign.
