Game won’t go ahead due to poor pitch
The Manchester derby pre-season game scheduled to go ahead today in China has been called off due to poor pitch conditions.
It was set to be Jose Mourinho’s first clash with rival Pep Guardiola since they both took over their new respective clubs, but the game in Beijing has been cancelled and it is currently unclear as to whether the game will go ahead at all at a later date.
The organizers released this statement:Â “Due to recent weather events, tournament organisers and participating clubs have made the decision to cancel the International Champions Cup fixture to be played in Beijing tonight, 25 July.”
The wait for a Pep vs Jose clash goes on.
